|Newsdog is carrying an article about a new textile filament plant in Honduras: Read the press release here.|
AKC Note: Not being familiar with Newsdog I took some time to check out this report before distributing it. Every indication is that this is accurate news and it seems to be that the plant will include polyester POY and DTY production of approximately 25,000 tons per year and that it will be part of an integrated project which will include fiber, fabric, dyeing and finishing and cut and sew. It seems that Honduras is taking the example of some of the Chinese/Asian textile centers in offering a complete package of services in one area. We understand there are a number of overseas companies looking to be involved with the project, but at this early stage details are not being shared. This is potentially exciting news for CAFTA, particularly coming after the withdrawal by the US from TPP.
