It has been announced this afternoon that Nan Ya is filing an anti-dumping petition against suppliers of low melt polyester staple from Korea and Taiwan: Read the press release here.

 

AKC Note: This follows the anti-dumping petition recently filed against a number of countries for the supply of polyester staple of less than 3 denier, the initial hearing for that petition was held last week. The following table shows the recent growth in volumes of imports and also shows the dominance of Korea (69% share of total) and Taiwan (30% share of total). The dumping claim is 32.95% – 45.84% against Korean producers and 30.24% – 62.52% against Taiwanese producers.
