Our last conference was the The Fibres and Raw Materials Conference 2008.
This PCI conference was again held in Hong Kong, on 6/7 November 2008. The timing was particularly appropriate given the rapid changes taking place in the fibres and textiles markets.
This PCI conference is unique in that it covers all the textile fibres and therefore offers a broader perspective than in the case with more specialised gatherings. Also, the PCI team makes its best efforts to encourage considerable networking among the delegates, bringing extra value to all the participants. It is known as one of the friendliest gatherings in the fibres industry, with considerable interchange among all the participants. It is planned to repeat the exercise again next year and details will follow in the near future.
Clearly the current world situation was a major topic for discussion and to illustrate the material shown at the conference we include below the first day note paper on fibre demand. By way of introduction to its main theme, we show first however the first page of the November issue of the monthly 'Fibres Report'.
